Not unless it has a gas driven system that re-cocks the hammer.

There are only two types of semiautomatic revolvers in existance. The Webley-Fosbery of “The Maltese Falcon” fame and the Italian made Mateba. A highly decorated Mateba was used in the movie “Serenity”.

The 1911 Colt is a semi-auto but does NOT have a “gas system.” It is, like MOST pistols, RECOIL operated.

Semi-auto pistols are mostly magazine-fed, recoil operated, HAND weapons... whereas rifles generally use a gas-piston system to operate the mechanism to cock and load the weapon.
