Our good friend Darlene Brennan, known as the feisty SheLion here on Free Republic has passed away. We had an inkling that she was sick, but she kept her own counsel when we would ask about her declining posts on FR.
We'll all miss one tough fighter for freedom.

God rest her soul. We used to get on the antismoking threads and she would just let the antismokers have it. She was so witty and funny. I am going to miss talking to her in FR. Prayers to her family for comfort in their time of grief.

Darlene was a true warrior for freedom. She will be sorely missed.
One of my favorite Irish memorial sayings says it all...
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you and whispered “come to me.” With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
Rest in Peace Darlene, we will have a joyful reunion some day.
