The coming post-election War with Iran - will Bush save us? (Vanity)

Posted on 06/25/2008 7:55:13 PM PDT by wingsof liberty

Bill O'Reilly said recently that Bush will not attack Iran without Congressional approval - which he will never get. Bill says he would be impeached, but what if he did it after the election? If Obama is elected, we all know he would coddle Ahmahnutjob and give him 50% of our GDP (for starters) to prevent him from nuking us / Israel. So it would make sense to attack Iran prior to 1/20/09. If McCain is elected, he can claim any action Bush takes was done w/o his approval. So if diplomacy fails - which it has for years, why would Bush not attack? Any attack we mount would be far more effective then what Israel could muster, and would cripple their nuclear program. This could be the only way to avert a 3rd world war! What say you, Freepers?

That's funny...because tonight Bill opened the show talking about a possible strike on Iran by Israel before the election...Bill told Dick M. that the oil crisis and Iran have caused the folks to not want a rookie in the WH, hence the new tied poll numbers between Wonder Boy and McCain.

This time, it’s up to Israel to do the job, with back-up from the US.

Oh, I don’t think Israel’s militray decisions—their national security—ultimately rise and fall in light of American elections.

I though a president could only be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors?
Attacking Iran without congressional approval is neither or at best only one of the two.

Bush isn’t going to strike Iran. He’s been given every reason in the world to do it and he’s barely sniffed about it. As far as I can tell he has a kid glove policy with Iran.

High Crimes and Misdemeanors is merely the category of offenses in which the president can be charged. Actually it covers anything that sufficient Congressmen can be induced to support. A McCain election with a sufficient Democrat majority in the House and Senate guarantees an impeachment in the next term, as revenge for Clinton.

“Bush isn’t going to strike Iran. He’s been given every reason in the world to do it and he’s barely sniffed about it. As far as I can tell he has a kid glove policy with Iran.”

Bush knows that attacking Iran, unlike Iraq’s can of worms, will be opening a 55 gallon drum of worms.

It’s been all he can do to try and keep the ecomomy afloat while battling a hostile media AND house. The steady lowering of interest rates has consequences EVERYBODY knew beforehand. INFLATION. The once gold backed dollar and now oil backed greenbacks value steadily declined with each cut, and all to save a greedy housing market gone out of control.

And let’s not forget public sentiment over Iraq.

Now I have no doubt Iran’s nuke facilities will bombed. Whether it’s us or Israel, it doesn’t matter. Oil will skyrocket like you’ve never seen before when the threat of the Straights of Hormuz being compromised becomes very real. Iran’s terrorists will probably try and disrupt the oil supply line further up towards the well end. Embargo’s have already shut them off so they’ll have nothing to lose and hit us hard economically.

Do you really think attacking Iran up to now would really help things?

There’s a bigger picture here than most realize. Iran is a threat unlike any other threat EVER posed.

Ahmadinijad WANTS, he frickin’ WANTS to be attacked. This crazy F@#$ truely believes he can bring about the Islamic messiah through chaos. He see’s no problem with sacrificing MILLIONS of muslims to die a martyrs death for the sake of Islam.

The bulk of our headaches in Iraq have come from a relatively few insurgents sent from Tehran wreaking havoc on our soldiers who keep getting their hands tied tighter each day while our own domestic terrorists(democrats) stab them in the back followed up with a thumb in the eye from our own supreme court. When I’monajihad unleashes his dogs, well you may want to think about buying some stock in tylenol. The prospect of Hezbollah sleeper cells already here within borders being activated causing terror on our own streets similar to what they are doing on Baghdad’s streets would paralize us. Heck just look at what the DC snipers did to the folks around the beltway, and that was just 2 idiots with one rifle.

It’s going to be interesting next 4 years to say the least no matter who wins the presidency and whether Iran is attacked or not before either the election or the inauguration itself.

Either way in the end I’monajihad will get his chaos he seeks.
