“Everybody belongs to — since when [did] we start letting people like Barack Obama into Republican country clubs?”
Yeah, all Republicans are racist knuckle-dragging thugs. Utter garbage.
Two of the most racially diverse places I know are my parent’s neighborhood ($400k and up homes) and their former country club. The cc in particular used to be exclusively Jewish, but quite a while ago, they openned up the doors to all comers who (a) had good references and (b) paid the dues. Membership when my parents left (they just weren’t going enough to justify the cost) included Jews, Catholics, blacks, whites, Indians (from India), native Americans, etc., etc. Definitely generally Republican, too.

Obama Skips Hillary’s Speech & Plays Golf
I am extremely shocked to hear that while Hillary was giving her speech today, Obama was out playing Golf. Just goes to show how much Obama really cares about Hillary and Hillary supporters.
So how do you feel about Obama skipping out on Hillary’s speech for a round of golf? Post your thoughts in the comments
Everyone has asked for a source. Here is one from the Boston Globe: Just do a google news or a google blogsearch on the keywords “Obama Golf”
I have never heard of a 'Republican country club'. The ones that I am aware of don't ask for your political affiliation or care what color you are to join. All they care about is whether you can pay your bill on time!
BTW, most of the people I know in the country club are DEMOCRAT trust fund babies. Their grandparents made the money, their parents invested it and they are spending it!
Hey clueless clien. How many in your country club? Why are you even counting?
I was in the room when Howard Dean made those comments in 2005. Nobody laughed. He was a POS then and still is.
Vote Obama 2008! It not about the content of his character, it the color of his skin!
I wouldn’t want him ANYWHERE near my bowling team.
Joe Klein is an incoherant boob.
Here's Karl's version 1.0 from the Times of London:
You have probably seen this kind of guy at London parties, trailing ash from a fashionable cigarette into the carpet and making snide remarks about someone being an abominable bore, Mr Rove said.
Obama is an arrogant guy. He's had things his way lately. People hang on his every word. That's enough to make anybody arrogant.
But he's not a "country club" guy. Nothing to do with Republicans or racism, it's just that he's not a suburbanite or a golfer. I doubt he's going around calling people "abominable bores" either.
Whether or not he's really more arrogant than other politicians, or other Democrat Senators and presidential candidates he's not going to stand in a corner and snipe, when he can enjoy being the center of attention. Few politicians would.
Rove is pretty tone-deaf lately. His comments may have more to do with his own situation than anything else. He seems determined to go the way of some other political celebrities who people are begging to keep out of the limelight.

I’m a racist, just not as racist as Joe Klien. Must be that Jew/Black thing still going on with him.
Pray for W and Our Troops
"I haven't got a problem with the color of his skin, but I do with how thin it seems to be!!
WOW - bingo!
Riiiiight...so do people like Obama hang out in bowling alleys and score below 40?
Is Joe going for the Abe Lincoln-elder statesman look?
People like Obama? What the hell does that mean?
You mean he’s black like Tiger Woods? Or country clubs check voter registrations? I don’t get it.
Joe Klein, why do you feel the need to project your hate-filled racism on those who aren’t built that way?
The article is right! Most Country Clubs don’t encourage Muslim extremists to join. The “Che Gueverra/Cuban” flag pin on his lapel isn’t a good fit either.
“joe klein; people like obama aren’t let into republican country clubs.”
translation: “i, joe klein, an enlightened liberal genius, say that republican country clubs are white, obama is black, and white republican country clubs exclude blacks and are therefore racist, and i am a genius because i just called all those evil white republicans a bunch of racists without really calling them racists and i have played the race card without having played the race card and that makes me a master of the nuance and a totally absolutely brilliant liberal.”
