Submitted for your consideration... An elderly Zillionaire, who wants to be President of the United States. However, he is not a natural born citizen, and is thus prevented from running, and even if he could he could not spend enough of his own money to win under public financing rules.

So he runs a patsy for President, and spends enough money to ensure he will win. But he is careful to choose somebody who is also not a natural born citizen, knowing that the Congress will remove the requirement rather than throw out the results of a national election. Thus one bar is removed. He also has this candidate opt out of public financing, thus guaranteeing the death of that system. Thus another bar is removed...

(cue eerie music...)

Perhaps Soros is just laying the groundwork for Soros 2012!

That would require a constitutional amendment, ratified by 38 states, not just an Act of Congress.

If the Supreme Court were somehow to acquiesce to a non-natural-born president without a properly-ratified amendment, we would be well past the Awkward Phase.
