So is the fawning just a Republican form of Obama syndrome (good speeches + visible minority)?

To be perfectly honest, he fooled me. He had a decent voting record in congress. I voted for him for gov. five years ago and last year. He said all the right things and made you believe them. We conservatives were excited.

But this has been a very bitter letdown. I mean Louisiana ain't got the best reputation and now this faux conservative comes along and he's no better than what we've dealt with all my life.

Well, the man needs to be taught a lesson.

You’re not the only one who was fooled. I knew only what the press releases told me, that he was some new rock-ribbed conservative with the power of persuasion and a bright future. But there were Freepers back then that were skeptical, and predicted that he would turn out to be just another ivy-league, big-government country-clubber. Now, it’s starting to look like they were right. Unfortunately.
