I’m glad I’m not the only one.
I have a large group of friends from India that are Hindu. And oh yeah, they drink! Not any more than anyone else but alcohol is always a part of celebrations, weddings etc, just like the majority of us.
I learned something....
Prohibition Kills. People literally dying to drink.

I dreamed that I was on old Rockey Top,
down in the Tennessee hills.
Ain’t no smoggy smoke on Rockey Top,
ain’t no telephone bills.
Corn won’t grow at all on Rockey Top,
dirt’s too rockey by far.
That’s why all the folks on Rockey Top,
get their corn from a jar.
