an operation so large that critics fear disastrous environmental consequences.

But all those illegals traipsing through and leaving their biological and regular garbage cause no environmental damage.

The project will require cutting earth from surrounding hills and filling in the canyon with more than 2 million cubic yards of dirt

Very nice!

How ‘bout rigging the whole area with landmines ? (I say straight-faced after spending the last 3 hours being audiologically raped to the point of vomiting by our ILLEGAL f*ckwit neighbors).

To heck with the actual border, fall back and build it
on the defensible high ground, build the border as a
military line.

I understand why we need a fence but I don’t understand how we need to give up American land. Some curvey fence.

I couldn't read the name of the company doing the work. Can someone tell me it's not a Mexican or other ‘friendly’ nation doing the installation?? It wouldn't surprise me a bit if a Mexican or even a Chinese company won the bid for the job.

I just thought of something that pertains to:
“critics fear disastrous environmental consequences”

Environmentalist are critical to a cow’s fart, what will moving a little bit of dirt and rock do to their psyche??

Proposed additional fencing The project will require cutting earth from surrounding hills and filling in the canyon with more than 2 million cubic yards of dirt, an operation so large that critics fear disastrous environmental consequences.

I'm sure this will turn this pristine wilderness into a desert.

Would mining that stretch of land be more “eco-friendly”?

Filling in an canyon with dirt? Well, that does sound dumb. I am no greenie but it sounds stupid. I suppose at the cost they could make a cheap fence and put a sentry on it for about 200 years.

And 15 feet high = “get on my shoulder or pile up some rocks.”

This is an SFB fence (stuff for brains). The immigration will stop of its own accord if the employers follow the law and the government quits giving out free goodies.
