A “manly handshake” is nothing compared to giving birth.
Ever tried it?? :D

Yep. My religion & customs were just invented for the purpose of being anti-social.

Trying to give birth for me would look about as futile and awkward and impossible as trying to get a handshake from a woman. There is no parity in either.

Maybe you haven’t shaken enough hands?

I find that’s typically the case with some religious types.

I would’ve worn a very thick glove and offered to shake left handed

"I have worked with different Muslim men and women and have yet to see them refuse to shake hands. Maybe they are fully westernized (I hope so) or maybe they are simply adroit at avoiding situations where it is called for as a matter of courtesy.

Solomon counseled against it:

Prov 22:26 Be not thou [one] of them that strike hands, [or] of them that are sureties for debts.

Childbirth trumps handshakes,

but

Handshakes between men and women have very little to do with the Childbirth process.

How did the subject of Childbirth enter into a subject of handshakes?

When strength and delicate-ness was introduced. Manly handshakes=silliness.

A real handshake is within its own realm, and seems to be beyond your illustration.

Well, you know how it is. First you get to shakin’, next thing you know you’re bakin’.

You missed my point.

If you are coming to my country, then you know what to expect. f you don’t like the way our society works, and how people relate to one another, then you need not be here.

(You understand that by “you” I don’t necessaarily mean YOU - it is the rhetorical “you”)

No one is trying to stop you or the other natives from relating to each other as you wish. But certain people don’t want to shake your hand. You are free to not associate with us if you find it distasteful & you can go shake all the other hands that you want. Many of the Jews & Muslims who follow these customs are Americans. Are you going to tell them to shake your hand or leave as well?

Is that really a Muslim belief — that men are too good to shake the hand of a lowly woman?

o. Hussein b. does it all the time!!!

The fact that close relatives kiss & hug each other as normal means that we are not worried about incest.

And the fact that I shake hands with women as normal means that we are not worryied that we are being too intimate.

It always fascinates me that Americans are expected to honor foreign customs when abroad, so as not to be rude, and also to honor foreign customes when at home, so as not to be rude.

I may be dating myself, but I think that that clear clipboard thing you’re talking about is actually the looking glass from the old “Romper Room” show.

The one on Romper room was round and had no glass.
