You fixed nothing. The kids father was there. He went up the ramp to the plane rather than run to the cameras. If you want to take all kids away from parents in communist countries, might I suggest you go to LAX and start with Air China. Kids leaving all the time for China. I'm NOT talking about taking kids away from their parents.
There is NO DOUBT in my mind that Elian's father was coerced by Castro into saying he wanted his son back.
Even within communism there are degrees of oppression. The FACT that Chinese citizens are ALLOWED to visit the United States should demonstrate that for you.

No mater what's going on inside your mind, parents have the right and responsibility to have their child. You don't take someone's kid away because they live in a bad country.
So, if they can visit the US that makes it okay for them to keep ther child and if not they cannot? Perhaps you can work the Mexico City airport and stop kids from getting on the flights to Havana.
