<”...A Democrat in the White House plus both Houses of Congress will have the latitude to merely change the law whenever it’s convenient...”>
I do not see how McCain will, from a political standpoint, do anything differently except in international affairs, national defense, and with the economy. I suspect, if circumstances allow, he would appoint Supreme Court Justices similiar to those a President Obama might choose.
After the huge blowout over amnesty legislation, when Congress and the White House were buried by public outcry, McCain said he had got the message. He really did NOT get it and appears to have not changed his thinking at all.
What I fear from a President Obama is the total negation of the 2nd Amendment, a sharp curtailment of the 1st Amendment, harrowing political demagoguery and persecution a la Hugo Chavez, and the wholesale adoption of the UN’s Millenium political scheme which abolishes our sovereignty. The only thing that would really top all would be for the Obama’s to finally come out of the closet and claim to have been practising Muslims after all! (His half-sister did say that the entire family was Muslim.) LOL!!
I think - I hope! - we can survive a McCain presidency without bloodshed. I’m certain we won’t be able to with an Obama presidency.
McCain will not criminalize dissent and will not pack the court and will not grant the District two Senators. Major differences. We citizens will have our work cut out on immigration and supreme court justices. That will be our objectives from day one of a McCain presidency.
I cautiously agree. As for the Supreme Court, I believe he will appoint liberal justices if given the opportunity. Just a hunch (and a prayer) that I’m wrong.
I don’t like McCain but will vote for him. However any money we can afford to donate this year will go to specific conservative candidates. No money to the RNC.
