I'm a professional artist - for a while, I painted copies of Old Masters and the French Impressionists.
However, copyright laws prohibit using the work of any painters that have not been dead at least 75 years.
There's also protection of logos. You cannot use someone else's logo - even if you change it slightly. If it's obviously a take-off, it's illegal.
