What happened to security guards?

Haven’t seen one in a bank in years, if I ever have for that matter. Only on Andy Griffith, I think his name was Asa.

It would be interesting to know if it’s even “legal”, or de facto illegal, due to liability concerns. Any bank tellers here that could speak to this?

Dunno about security guards, but my wife is a branch manager. She (and all other company employees) is forbidden to have a firearm on the property, even secured in her automobile in the parking lot.

...Even with a valid CCW permit.

So, I guess the lesson is that bank employees are expected to be victims, even when they are enroute to and from work, at lunch, etc.

I don’t work at a bank, but the bank I use here in the central valley of California got tired of being robbed and always has an armed security guard. And not a fat guy. They haven’t been robbed since.
