“Another way to tax people?.”

Another way to watch people to see that they don't do anything illegal. For now. Then when we get National Health Care, which both presidential candidates support, it can be used to advise you that you are eating wrong, your benefits will be reduced until you shape up.

Oh, it wasn't illegal then, but on March 9th 2009, you bought 100 feet of “cannon fuse” (Green Visco) with your Visa. Now that it's illegal, just asking, do you still have any?

The recent pattern of purchases by CindyDawg (cold pills, lithium batteries, Coleman fuel, coffee filters) makes us wonder if she is running a meth lab. We do swear and attest to these facts and ask that you grant a no-knock search warrant for the following address...

look up Operation Web Tryp. The secondary arrests were all made through credit card records, and the secondaries all thought they had been doing something legal!

Better yet...if CD’s been to vocally critical of the good Senator, why would’nt it just be too bad if somehow her account was hacked into...and certain items suddenly attributed to her?

Sheesh...my ancestors threw a King off the continent 237 years ago for less.....

I agree with all you said. Unfortunately I concluded years ago that liberty is incompatible with advanced technology, not to mention a government that exchanged its symbolic torch of liberty for a cornucopia of handouts, benefits and subsidies.
There can be no second revolution. All the govt has to do is adopt the battle cry “The rebels want to stop YOUR benefits!” and the millions who get theirs will be on the side of the welfare state.
We who believe in self-sufficiency and independence will be marginalized, outlawed, perhaps immolated a la Waco.
It won’t happen soon, but the frog’s warming up at a tolerable rate.

The detail capture you're concerned with is seldom if ever applied to consumer cards. If you're using a commercial card, i.e., purchasing card, and the vendor has enhanced data capture, and integrates their point of sale system to include all that data and attach it to the transaction, there may be some chance this would be a concern. If every card transaction included this information in the data stream the lines would go down and the processors would run out of storage within days.

I see this proposal more as a corollary to 1099s.

Notwithstanding, if I were to buy cannon fuse it would only be through a cash transaction. :)
