I can understand that argument, but the way that many of these restrictions are set up, these are lifetime bans. So, essentially, they will always be serving their sentence.
I fully support the death penalty for child molesters, so I'm not being soft on crime. However, if we're going to release them, I don't think these lifetime restrictions on where they live are just.

Did anyone here actually read the article? The perp is currently 24 years old. His conviction occurred 10 years ago - that puts him at 13 yo when the offence was committed — the offence of looking at the privates of two 5 yo girls.
No telling what 10 years of prison has done to him, but I don’t think the death penalty is appropriate for a 13yo with too many newly minted curious hormones.
