Energy: First, Democrats dishonestly blamed oil companies for overcharging. Now they falsely accuse them of keeping their high-priced oil off the market. With public support for drilling growing, Congress is panicked.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi complains that energy firms are "sitting on 68 million acres of federal lands they've already leased," but with which they are not producing oil and gas.
That same Democratic Party talking point was served up by Sen. Russ Feingold. He asked oil executives at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing last month "to explain why their companies are only developing 12 (million) of the 42 million acres of federal lands that they are leasing" and "only developing 8 (million) of the 38 million acres of offshore leased areas."
According to Feingold, "the executives could not come up with a good explanation."
In fact, they did it's the fault of Feingold, Pelosi, would-be president Barack Obama and every other member of Congress whose environmental extremism has prevented the oil industry from finding and extracting America's own supplies.

Such words just warm my heart :)
Democrats are just plain idiots. Period. We need to keep the pressure up, and tighten the screws on these liberal hack jerkoffs.
I am watching some clown named Steve Israel from New York, liberal LOSER who is insisting the oil companies drill in every single acre of what they’ve leased.
The guy is a complete joke, and Neil Cavuto has exposed him to be a hypocrite.
Plain and simple, the Democrats are retards.
BTTT
Yeah ... and you can put a whole s***pot of stinking RINO
s in their with them. I swear there is not enough collective intellect among 535 prima donna’s to jumpstart a moron.
Man...any GOP leader with a decent set of what God gave him, should be able to knock the snot out of the Dems over this issue.....unfortunately, rather than seizing the moment, they’re probably stumbling all over one another racing for a camera to appear “Green”.......
Clown from my congressional district, unfortunately. Isreal rode into town when Rick Lazio stepped down after being recruited to take on Hillary in the 2000 Senatorial election, and only at the last minute when Rudy dropped out for that seat.... UGHHH, what a nightmare!
I’m going to repeat this plenty of times.
If the GOP cannot climb on top of this issue and force the Dems to eat their own obstinance, they suck, they deserve to lose. Dems win elections out of financial challenges, when their so-called leaders promise the moon. This is finally the issue that connects to their hip at the fourth grade thinking level. If the Reps cannot forge this into their issue, it’s the chance of the decade lost, and they deserve to lose.
I was watching CSPAN this morning before the Presidents speech when they had the one minute speeches on when everyone of the critters could say what was on their mind. One liberal just lied through his teeth. I screamed at my TV
Congress is solely to blame for the energy crisis, particularly the Democrats who’ve had their way with energy policy over the last 30 years.
If it is going to take 10 years, shouldn't we get started? Drill here, drill now, pay less |
This issue is very personal to Americans. Gas and food are basic staples of our society. The leadership of the Republican party should hammer the fact that Congress is blocking us from drilling OUR oil. I really think this time we can make a difference from keeping the pressure on.
I would endure $10 gas if it would finally destroy, once and for all, the democrat party......
Congress, neigh all politicians don't lead. They react and normally wait until a crises is upon us and then act too quickly without even looking at unintended consequences - just look at the Ethanol program for example.
These energy problems and getting our own oil have been around since the 70's. Here we are 30 years later and the best the Republicans can do is "blame" the Democrats.
I am getting old and memory is failing, but didn't Republicans just here in the recent past control the WH and both halls of Congress.
I am sick of both political parties and their ineptitude stemming from their all consuming primary purpose - Getting and Staying Elected. Acquisition of and then maintenance of power is the only motivating force for any of them.
We are getting exactly what "we" deserve having placed our faith in political parties for so long now.
Unfortunately the hardships are going to grow before and if any of the mess can or will be corrected.
The Derelict in Duty Dems back in charge for almost 2 years and all they can do is delegate blame to everyone else but themselves, they have saddled this nation yet again with more burdens to bear and act as if they are not in nay responsible for their actions or should I say inactions.
Why people keep voting for these maroons is beyond me.
in any way
The War in Iraq
Abortion
Nuclear Power
Drilling for Oil
Global Warming
Taxes
The facts prove the left wrong time after time, yet half of Americans continue to vote for them.
It’s extremely discouraging.
Democrats are on the wrong side of everything, yet
Absolutely fantastic editorial. Will the truth set the oil companies free?
Panicky chickens shit on themselves for political gain.
