Larry Sinclair's press conference today at the National Press Club ended with the surprise appearance of US Marshalls, who presented a warrant for Sinclair's arrest. The DC police arrested and led Sinclair away in handcuffs.
UPDATES UPDATE at 6:32 pm Wednesday June 18, 2008: Sinclair was indeed arrested by DC police immediately after his press conference and is being held, at present, by the Washington DC Police Department. Sinclair's being held at the 1st Division, 415 No. 4 Street SW. No charges have been announced. According the The Mitch and Nan Show blog:

UPDATE 6:53 pm Wednesday June 18, 2008: Sinclair was arrested by DC Police after 2 US Marshalls showed up and presented a warrant from the State of Delaware for Sinclair’s arrest. Montgomery Blair Sibley, who’s had his law license suspended by the District of Columbia and Florida, and who was previously Sinclair’s attorney, reviewed the warrant and then Sinclair was led away.
UPDATE 7:01 pm Wed June 18: According to a poster at Sinclair's blog--who claims to be his mother--Sinclair is to be transported to Delaware, where he'll appear before a judge. Bail will be discussed at that time. It seems unlikely that bail will be granted, since Sinclair skipped out on $15,000 bail in Colorado and is still wanted by the Pueblo Co. Sheriff's Department.

No way that this whacko gets whacked. He’s a walking credibility disaster and if Obama wants this story to go away keeping Sinclair safe and talking is the best way to do it. Every time he opens his mouth he looks less credible and the story falls farther into the “tin foil hat” file.
If Sinclair were to have a fatal “accident”, ten thousand internet “investigators” would swarm on it. Sinclair is more dangerous to Obama as a corpse then he is as a talking nimrod.

Public records and court filings reveal that he has a 27-year criminal record, with a specialty in crimes involving deceit. The record includes forgery charges in two states, one of which drew Sinclair a 16-year jail sentence. The Pueblo County, Colorado, Sheriff's Office also has an outstanding warrant for Sinclair's arrest for forging an acquaintance's signature and stealing her tax refunds.Larry also skipped out on his $15,000 bail in Colorado. What is this guy's motive for doing this if none of it is true? Just a loon facing jail time who wants to piss off as many blacks as he can before he goes to prison? Not sure why he'd want to do that if he values his life, which maybe he doesn't.
This crap reminds me of all the allegations against Clinton before he was elected. All the women coming forward were "whores" and "sluts" just working for the GOP, then after Clinton got elected, we saw that everything they were saying was spot on about his character, or lack thereof.
Just a gut feeling, but I believe Sinclair. Not only is Obama a racially divisive, separatist, marxist, America hater, but he's also possibly a cocaine connected, crack smoking, down-low bisexual. An excellent resume' for POTUS indeed.
His criminal record is a liability, but I just don't see the motive, especially as he explains that his main concern was outing Obama over his drug use, not his sexual preferences, which Sinclair didn't seem to think was an issue until Obama's camp made it an issue, presuming that it would be an issue tied to the drug issue.
It really doesn't matter though. The Obamabots aren't going to care one way or the other, and the moderates should already have enough info on Obama without Sinclair's allegations if they care to look for it.

I guess the law only applies to guys like Sinclair. Illegal aliens can stage mass demonstrations yet no US Marshalls show up to arrest them.
Possibly, but isn't it interesting how he mentioned his outstanding warrant? Would you want to walk out of today's appearance by yourself, or with a police escort?
I personally think it was a very smart move.
