Professor: Gore Needs to 'Slim Down' for Environment

Obesity may be unsightly to some, but it has a real impact on the environment and our use of gasoline according to one economist.

Dr. Richard McKenzie, a professor of economics at the University of California-Irvine and author of “Why Popcorn Costs So Much at the Movies: And Other Pricing Puzzles,” attributed the increased carbon footprint to overweight Americans.

He explained there are environmental implications, specifically the effects of obesity on global warming and pointed the finger directly at former Vice President Al Gore.

“I am concerned about environmentalists who are advising other people to cut out the lights, drive less and buy smaller cars – and here they have an extra 20 or 30 inches around their waists,” McKenzie said to the Business & Media Institute on June 18. “They’ve got to understand that they can contribute also. You know, they want to tell everybody else what to do, well I’m throwing it back at Al Gore.”

I wonder if Gore flatulence figured into the professor's equation.

The professor just doesn’t understand. Obesity among the liberal poohbahs is a badge of rank, Like the Goracle, like Michael Moore, like Meathead...

It’s saying they’re so exalted they’re visibly allowed to flout the standards they would impose on others.

Fat AL-bert’s extreme rotundness is causing the oceans to rise and drown the polar bears.

Gee, a professor gets one right.

“I am concerned about environmentalists who are advising other people to cut out the lights, drive less and buy smaller cars” while flying private jets and have electric bills 10 times the average ameroicans. Why worry about the huge fat gut, how about Fat Albert’s electric bills!

All animals are equal. Some are more equal than others.

And the Obamessiah has spoken. We may no longer eat what we'd like. There are no shortages but it is morally WRONG to do so while the rest of the world watches.

I try not to make fun of folks' appearance just because I happen to disagree with their views: Michael Moore, Al Gore, etc. But I will say this. Unlike Michael Moore, who's long had a serious weight problem, Gore was trim and fit in 2000. Remember him at the "sigh" debate? He looked GREAT:

After what surely was a crushing loss, Gore understandably gained some weight. But then he kept on gaining, and gaining, and gaining. Dude? You're rich; you can set your own schedule (to allow workouts whenever you wish); you can eat any special dietary foods you like; etc. To gain that much weight, that quickly, and then keep it on -- under THOSE elite circumstances -- is troubling:

... and THAT was 3 years ago!

It's simple. You promote policies that drive up food costs and cause starvation and malnutrition in undeveloped countries.

They get skinny, have less impact on the environment, leaving you free to indulge your gluttony.

I wish I could say I was being sarcastic.

... pointed the finger directly at former Vice President Al Gore...

But, if ex-VP Gore had a successful BM he could fertilize the entire tomato crop of Mexico.

Nonononononono! Let it be.

If Fat Albert exercises, he will breathe harder and produce more CO2.
