Dead wrong. During the 16th and 17th Centuries -- definitely post-Viking -- Sweden was an important military power. Do a search on "Gustavus Adolphus" for details.

OK since the 18th Century Sweden has been a Pacifist nation. I still hold out no hope for their survival.

IE Other more long-term measures include the recruitment of firefighters with immigrant backgrounds.
