Two Muslim women at Barack Obama's rally in Detroit Monday were barred from sitting behind the podium by campaign volunteers seeking to prevent the women's headscarves from appearing in photographs or on television with the candidate.
The campaign has apologized to the women, all Obama supporters who said they felt betrayed by their treatment at the rally.
"This is of course not the policy of the campaign. It is offensive and counter to Obama's commitment to bring Americans together and simply not the kind of campaign we run," said Obama spokesman Bill Burton, who added that the volunteers were acting contrary to the campaign's policy. "We sincerely apologize for this behavior."

There are some very . . . healthy women in that photo. I think the word is "buxom".

Those female students look a LOT hotter than the ones I went to school with at Mad Anthony Wayne State U in the 70s.
How 'bout that! I finished up my degree at Wayne State U. in Detroit in 1977-78 and I honestly, do not remember seeing any Muslim women on campus during that time frame. And you're right; the females I saw on campus didn't look like those in the picture.

Deny, deny, deny. Can't have Barry photographed with Muslims, but of course that is not the official policy of the campaign.
Those pesky volunteers were acting on their own. We have no idea who instructed them to do that. We have no recollection of those instructions.

I'm just glad none of the above are my daughter.
Though for different reasons, both extremes are equally disturbing.

Not all women dress so scantily. The two pictures are meant to portray the vast differences in ideologies. As a woman, wife, mother and grandmother, I choose the picture on the right. The one on the left is a non-existent quasi death sentence.
