Ben Smith has good detail on a post-conference call powwow between McCain and some Hillary backers yesterday:
"He stayed for a good almost half hour afterwards shaking hands, listening to our concerns, talking to us," said PUMA founder Will Bower, who said he thought many of the people there would vote for McCain.
Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina stayed to mingle with the crowd, whose members also included Clinton backer Harriet Christian, made momentarily famous on YouTube for getting ejected from the Rules & Bylaws press area.
Bower said he'd liked McCain's answer on judges, in which he "pointed out that he supported Bill Clinton with both Ginsberg and Breyer."
Another person who was present, but asked not to be named to avoid conflict with fellow Democrats, said he'd pressed a McCain staffer on McCain's position on same-sex marriage.
The staffer "said it was the same as [John] Kerry's position," he said.
Ben Smith is an online, DNC propaganda stooge...
The staffer “said it was the same as [John] Kerry’s position,” he said.
huh?
Any “Hillary backer” who’d consider McCain, is just someone stupid enough to have been fooled by Clinton’s shift to the center.
And there are such people. :(
Millions of them, thank goodness: http://www.hcsfjm.com
Yes, there are many. I’m never happy about discovering millions more fools, but at least it’s some assurance that Obama won’t win.
When I encounter a former Hillary voter in my town (and there are some!) I always ask them if they’re going to vote for Obama. The Hillary yard signs are still up, the Hillary bumper stickers are still prominent. My better next-door neighbor (not the Beast) is a retired psychiatric nurse in her 70’s, you’d think she’d know better. She said “We’ll see, but I think I’ll be voting for Hillary.”
They’re in denial. Nobody so far, out of about a dozen people, has told me they’re ok with Obama.
If I had to bet, I’d bet PA will go for McCain.

>>>he supported Bill Clinton with both Ginsberg and Breyer.”
Nearly all senate Republicans voted for these two nominees. Voting was on the traditional basis deferring to the President’s nominee if the person actually was qualified for the Court.
This becomes a difficult reality for a democrat or DU troll to address. To knock down Mccain’s statement, it must be admitted that since the time all Republicans joined to confirm an ACLU attorney, it has been the democrats changing the rules to apply litmus tests above and beyond the nominee’s actual qualifications. Obama’s spokesmen won’t wish to admit this.
As for the kneejerk McCain haters, reality won’t matter. It never does.
“He stayed for a good almost half hour afterwards shaking hands, listening to our concerns, talking to us,”
...and he said don’t worry, a socialist government is on the way and in the bag.
We need to make tv ads from all the positive remarks Hillery made about McCain and all the negative remarks she made about Obama and play them over and over. I would gladly contibute to any political organization that would do it.
Recent polls show Obama leading McCain. I cant help but wonder how many of those polled are republicans who would not admit that they are going to suck it up and vote for McCain when election day comes. I am sure a large number of us are still angry about it but I believe most will make the rational decision to vote for McCain if for no other reason than to keep Obama out of office.
The 'CRY BABY CONSERVATIVES' as I call them, can't let McCain alone in what the REPUBLICANS did - and they all voted for Ginsberg.
I'm not sure, but I think Fred did too - because at the time - if the judical candidate was qualified, that what you did.
I have to check to see who voted for Ginsberg, but I think I'm right on Fred.
Yes, there are a lot of these so called "Cry Baby Conservatives', people acting like a two year old having a temper tantrum, because their candidate didn't get nominated. (And, mine didn't!)
but I believe most will make the rational decision to vote for McCain if for no other reason than to keep Obama out of office.
I hope these 'Cry Baby Conservatives' will make the choice, but I doubt it. Some will stay home, and some will go third party they say to me - I say but if you are going third party, why not just vote for OBAMA - since you'll be ELECTING him.
I went to that website to check it out three times and only two of the links on the site connect and that’s the one for Donations and the one for the website Store.
I’m not real high-tech. Could it be that the website is taking a lot of “hits” and is slow in connecting to the links? Or, is it just a “money-maker” for somebody?
I think you can take 3 to 4 percentage points off of all of Obama’s poll numbers to account for people who will not tell a pollster that they would never vote for a Black, Marxist, Muslim. They want to appear “loving” and “progressive”.
Somebody give me some input; am I right or wrong?
Still won’t load (at least for me).If you know anyone at that site you might want to let them know...
