I guess a lot of kids will be microwaving their school bags. It’ll drive the central planners nuts.
I took my girls out of public school for a time and made my private stand. They went to private Christian school for about 2 years and then back to public for the last two years of HS. My problem was with the school system in Maine. They finished their education in Florida where I didn't find anything to get ticked off about in that 2 years.
You're kidding with that question, right? It's the sheeple syndrome. If there weren't so many "stupid" people in the US there'd be more conservatives!! ;~/
Some already are! My wife worked for Nationwide Ins. They had an thick, vinyl coverd ID tag to get in or out of the building. As a manager she also was told the whole building was wired.
They could tell everywhere you went in the building, how long you spent there, if you went back out to have a smoke break, if you left early, etc.
I checked it to see if I could discern a camera or microphone. Did not note anyway for a camera to be on it, but a mic? Maybe.
So Nationwide is on your side!
However, I bet some school admin got a new car or had a nice Hawaiian vacation shortly after it was put in effect.
“Some of you home schoolers make me sick. Do you home school to keep the teachers from seeing the bruises? “
Someone does need to apologize for sure. But not Theophilus or ItsForTheChildren.
Oh and I corrected your spelling errors. Spell checker is your friend even when you are out of bounds and rude.
I didn't want to get into an argument with anyone over home vs. public schooling and because I didn't express those thoughts well enough that's just what happened. Golly, it was perfectly clear to me. ;-) Again, I'm sorry.
(BTW, ItsForTheChildren is a he. No way you could know that, either. ;-) )
Today’s installment of “why the hell would you subject your children to government schools?”
Exactly what I was thinking.
Bag stays, student goes. Or students swap bags. Or students cut chips out of bag and go.
Ya know, I had some questions and challenges I would have liked to have put to ItsForTheChildren as well about what I perceived to be inconsistency in his/her name and post. I did not out of respect for his/her "thanks but no thanks" request.
But even had I succumbed to the urge I would not have been that obnoxious. You win no converts to the cause that way Slappy.
Some of you homeschoolers make me sick. Do you homeschool to keep the teachers from seeing the bruises?
Likewise, THAT was obnoxious libel as well. Way to play into every liberal, NEA, anti-school choice stereotype and slander.
Homeschool or home school. I don’t give a damn. If that is the best you can do go back to sacking groceries as break time is over.
As to an apology, I have nothing to apologize for.
Funny, home school parent can dish it but can NEVER take it. Probably pass that on to their kids too.
That is exactly how I saw your post. We disagree...but you did not need to know that in detail if you asked not to and you definitely did not try and hijack anything. I got it. Too bad not everyone could.
It most certainly was rude. He did not call the poster “out” for being a jerk, he libeled an entire group of people - most of which are good conservatives - with one of the more insidious stereotype accusations used by libs.
This is ALL that home schoolers do.Accuse good parents of child abuse, not caring about their kids, using the schools as a baby sitter, etc.
Anytime I meet somebody who is a home school parent I am very wary of them because of the holier than thou attitude of you people. You have really soured a lot of people with your denigration of good and loving parents.
Speaking of liberals, for the most part you all are the epitome of liberal because you think you know better for our kids than we do. Pretty sad.
I feel like I have been rolling in the mud with pigs so I am off this thread and will try to continue to ignore the misfits.
1) All homeschoolers do this? You have proof?
2) Two wrongs make a right?
3) As a conservative at FR you have never accused others (like, liberals maybe, or Obama supporters) of nefarious intentions and practices?

Ah..."you people".
Newsflash Einstein. I do not homeschool my kids. My we are just chock FULL of assumptions aren't we?

See above. Not doing too well are we?

Ditto, except I will call out the libelers. Buh bye.
Well at least in California they stood up to this, we’ll now see if RI is a lost cause.
Oopsie!! lol I should know better and need to start remembering to use he/she, etc. :~)
because I didn't express those thoughts well enough that's just what happened. Golly, it was perfectly clear to me. ;-)
That has been my defense of you from the start. I do the same thing myself. It takes me a little bit to post here because I check, double-check and sometimes triple-check (depending on how agitated I am!) what I'm about to post to make sure I'm not being unintentionally offensive or unclear in what I mean to say.
See, I took what you said different from Theophilus. It didn't sound like you were referring to the chipping at all. To me, it sounded like you were saying you were going to be glad when your kids were out of the house! lol
Wow! The double whammy! I guess one-liners can work sometimes, but this time not so much. :-)
Actually, I will be happy when my youngest has left the nest if it means she is gainfully employed in a job she loves and is able to support herself and be a good, productive citizen.
It was tough when my son drove away to move to Ohio (from Texas) for his first job after college 3 years ago. He has done well and I am very proud of him, but I sure miss having him around. His going to college in Oklahoma helped prepare us for that, though. Far enough away that he could only come home a few times during the school year (and summers) but close enough for us to get there in a few hours, if necessary.
The same will probably happen with my daughter, but at least with the two professions she's interested in (so far) she could probably stay in the local area during college and after. And that would be great, too.
I’ve heard lots of people say that they can’t wait for their kids to grow up and leave the house so they can have their life back. My girls are doing well in the Navy and I’m glad, but if I could go back and do it all over again I would in a heartbeat. I loved raising my girls and having them around. I did not look forward to it all being over at all. I often wonder why people have kids if they feel that way! Maybe they just have bratty kids and weren’t prepared and didn’t want to deal with what they got! lol I guess I always knew I’d be very sad when that chapter was over.
