Sure pick it up. If a newspaper is in the vending machine, if you want to read what is in that paper, should you pay for it?

I don’t get a paper except on Wednesdays and weekends, and I will be cancelling that.

Therefore, I can not quote from that paper?

Why are the offering articles online then? No quoting of any article anywhere?

I call BS. If someone pays for the newspaper and leaves it for one to read he basically assigned his rights. Now if you want your own personal copy then pay for it.
