I have no idea who Larry Sinclair is, but I think I’m about to find out. Last week I received a number of emails from people telling me one of two things about Larry Sinclair. Some told me he was scheduled to give a press conference at the National Press Club this Wednesday, which is now the day after tomorrow. Others told me he shouldn’t be allowed to speak there.
Well I have no idea who he is, so I did a Google search on him. This is what I came up with, see below.

Curiously, every one of the links that come back from Google show that
1. Sinclair has some sort of allegation about the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee and Senator Barack Obama, involving illegal drug use and a homosexual affair, and
2. Sinclair is a lunatic.
That seems to be the general gist of the Google results.

And Sinclair is scheduled to appear at the National Press Club this Wednesday, June 18.
We’ll see if he has anything interesting to say, unless FireDogLake.com gets their way. Earlier today, I received an email from a Jane Hamsher at firedoglakeaction@gmail.com, and she had this to say (and no, my name isn’t John, but whatever):
Dear John,
This morning a group of volunteers delivered nearly 11,500 petition signatures to the National Press Club asking them to check the facts of Larry Sinclair’s story before giving him the stage.
But it looks like we need to keep pressure on the National Press Club getting the message yet.
Friday, as news was getting around Washington about our petition, the president of the National Press Club, Sylvia Smith, defended the event to the Politico, saying, “I’m not aware that we’ve ever turned anybody away for content.”
It’s up to us to convince her to do just that.
Please give a call to the National Press Club at 202-662-7500, and politely, but firmly, ask them to deny their stage to someone bent on slandering a public figure.
Their own code of ethics states, “I believe that advertising, news and editorial columns should alike serve the best interests of readers; that a single standard of helpful truth and cleanness should prevail for all; that supreme test of good journalism is the measure of its public service.” (emphasis added)
Sinclair’s lies about sex and drug use don’t even come close to meeting that simple criterion. Hopefully a gentle reminder to review their own code of ethics will be enough to get the National Press Club to cancel the event.

So apparently FireDogLake is against free speech and the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. Personally, I have no idea what Larry Sinclair is going to say, and before I got this email from FireDogLake, I couldn’t care less.
But suddenly I’m rather curious that an organization like FireDogLake.com would be taking so much effort and going to so much trouble to collect tens of thousands of signatures and petitions and launching a barrage of phone calls against the National Press Club for the sole purpose of shutting down someone’s right to free speech.
Seems odd to me. So on Wednesday, I’ll be listening.
Let’s see what Mr. Sinclair has to report.

I am starting to think pissant is Larry Sinclair. Come to think of it, I have never seen pissant and Larry in the same room at the same time. Hmmmmmmm
Don’t know a lot about NPC protocol, but thought Sinclair was totally discredited. Is this a set up like the Michelle tape? I think there is a major effort underway to get sympathy for Obama and depict all his detractors as kooks.

Sinclair has not been discredited. He may be a kook, but so far, his critics - thousands of obamunists- have not discredited him.
What if Sinclair is being paid by the Obama campaign, and eventually he’ll break down in public and claim he’s paid by (Pick one- Rove, Cheney, McCain, RNC, Madonna) to discredit Obama?
There is too much publicity floating around this person.
I would also note that pissant has never been in Cliff Clavin's kitchen.

If it turns into a “he said/he said”, in other words if Sinclair can not come up with witnesses, it will be a losing proposition for the GOP to pursue this!

The difference is, once conservatives got wind of the rumors regarding Foley, we demanded his removal.

I don’t think the GOP is pursuing any of this Sinclair business. The whole thing is simply taking on a life if its own on the web.
That statement tells me you have an extremely superficial knowledge of the story.
