and there are plenty of small off the shelf engines already built (mostly for the military) to play with for R &D.

There are plenty of small off-the-shelf turbine generators already built, mostly for commercial aircraft. They are Auxilliary Power Units, and are used to provide backup electrical and hydraulic power in the event of engine power loss, and on the ground to run the ground systems until the main engines are spooled up.

Again, the problem is cost of the turbine.

Took me a while to find the article, I for the life of me couldn’t remember the name of the company -

I don’t care how precise it is, at that size and weight we could mass produce them if we wanted to.

Thats for sure... Hey everybody I just spent $200,000.00 and I save about $50.00 per week in gas costs!
