A great many young Polish women (and men) left the country before Poland joined the EU in search of greater prosperity. Now that Poland is part of the EU, it represents one of few bargains for manufacturing in Europe. Thus, many Polish nationals are leaving Germany, the UK and Ireland and moving back to Poland.

Hopefully they’ll be settling down a bit now! ;-)

What a contrast to the lefties in the west. This woman gave her life for an unborn child while the left wants to use unborn children for spare parts to save their lives,

Since 1993 (post-communism)Poland has had the world’s toughest abortion laws.

Auxiliary Bishop Marian Florczyk of Kielce, Poland has said that Mroz's testimony is an example of "love of life, motherhood, the desire to give life, the heroic love of an unborn child."

Amen, RIP. Be there to guide your daughter from heaven, Agata. You're a heroine, for all Polish people!

These are suicidally low fertility rates

Typical of European LIBERAL POLICIES! The only people in Europe are the Muslims! They need to give tax breaks to families.

God did not make many people like this, but thankfully he made some to set the standard.

Oh, my! I’m really conflicted with this one.

Leukemia is a blood cancer. I believe it is possible for it to be transferred to an unborn child. This happened to a friend of mine in the Navy.

She later said an oncologist told her, she should have aborted the baby, beaten down the cancer, and then went ahead and had more chidren. It would have lessened considerably the probability of passing on cancer cells.

Now, I’m not saying the above it something I know for sure. I am opposed to abortion on demand except to save a woman’s life. IMHO this woman sacrificed her life for a baby whose future probably involves serious life-threatening cancer.

I forgot to mention she had ovarian cancer and her baby died of leukemia three years after birth.

Stories like this and Macie Hope are what continue to give us hope in the anti-abortion movement. Prayers up for the father and little one, that God will protect and keep them and give “daddy” the wisdom, strength and stamina to raise his precious bundle through the ups and downs of life, in the Lord.

“For greater love has no man than to lay down his life for his friends”. ... Few of us are capable of that kind of love and we should honor those who are.

Amen to that.

A friend of mine here in Nashville has a song called “A Jesus Kind of Love” where he celebrates that with various examples.

I, too, lived in Nashville for a very long time--from early 1954 (as a child) to late 1986. I still live in Tennessee.

This is fake.
Never happened.
Totally made up.

I know because it wasn't on the TV news last night!
...and if it wasn't on the news, it NEVER happened.

Peace and comfort to Dad and his daughter.
I hope Liliana grows to be a voice to those who are willfully blind.

Actually, Poland does not have liberal policies; it has the most pro-life, baby-protective laws in Europe. I think part of the problem here is that so many young Poles have gone seeking work in other EU countries. A similar thing happened when East and West Germany were reunited in 1990: the former West Germany’s fertility rate remained relatively stable, whereas the former East Germany saw a precipitous decline over the next three years, as East Germans uprooted and swarmed into W. Germany looking for far better-paid jobs.

Similarly, the transition to a free-market economy in Poland and joining the EU changed the economic environment and incentives for childbearing. Since 1989, Poland has experienced a sharp decrease in fertility due to (1) no more automatic government income enhancements for families with children, and (2) much better wages for young Polish workers (both men and women) who traveled to other EU counties.

Do you have any information on the fertility rate in the Polish ex-pat community?

[And, by the way, once they become ex-pats, they aren't Poles anymore...]

Isn’t leukemia pretty hard to beat anyway? Seems like a reasonable choice to me....

How would it feel if you killed the unborn child and then died anway?
