I hate to say it, but this sounds like two cases of hysteria, with Rush feeding the frenzy.

Is he serious about this, or is he joking?

Jonathan Edwards as your trial lawyer if you drop one of these bulbs?

Good grief.

Personally I like them but understand that others don’t and they shouldn’t be forced to use them any more than I want to be prevented from using them.

I agree.

EVERY florescent bulb, including the ones we have been using since I was in grade school 60 years ago, have mercury in them. It is a basic component needed to get the amount of light out of them in an efficient manner. Old fever thermometers and home HVAC systems have much more mercury than the CFLs, and we have been using them for YEARS without all this hysteria!

Our policy is being established by mental midgets!

So, tell us, Cicero. When did it first become obvious that you had no sense of humor?

KOOKS, or Keep Our Own Kids Safe, is part of Rush’s entertainment program.

I hope a producer let the guy in on the joke afterward...

Rush is never more dangerous than when he is joking.

It’s his most dangerous weapon.

It’s also why libs don’t get him. They have no sense of humor.

“My God! Rush Limbaugh just said Hillary’s cutting off men’s TESTICLES!”

These bulbs do contain Mercury and are made in China. I find it inconsistent that the government has conditioned us, for many decades, that mercury poisoning is very serious stuff. Now, they want EVERY HOUSEHOLD in the country to use these things in every light socket. Do they have any idea how many light bulbs get broken in this country—and you're to call a hazmat team every time?!!!

Another source of discomfort: at present there are none of the recommended disposal facilities available anywhere in the country. We are to use these things, but what do we do with them when they burn out? The last recommendation that I heard was that we are to store them until an accepted disposal site is available. What?

You still believe our politicians wouldn't mandate/force something into our homes that would be hazardous?

Better educate yourself: Here's the warnings in my state:

http://www.maine.gov/dep/rwm/homeowner/cflbreakcleanup.htm

Not only are the dangerous in the home but anyone who thinks that everyone is going to package up the broken/used ones and cart them off to a hazardous waste center and pay for disposal is naive to the max.

These things will, by the millions, be thrown into the regular trash and all our landfills across the country have the potential to become major toxic waste dumps.

Wake up, Sheeple. The gov't tells us, first, what kind of toilet we can/can't have. Now they are controlling what kind of light bulbs we can have.............we need to tell the gov't to GET OUT OF OUR HOMES.

In the meantime, I'm stocking up on conventional bulbs and making sure I have enough lamps to last my lifetime as they are also going to mandate light fixtures be restricted to take ONLY these little bombs.

If he's serious, he's nuts.
