It’s a simple way to express your disgust at the loss of freedom and the growth of government. If a lot of people join in this will send a very visible message that the patriots are restless.
This should be protected under freedom of political speech. If you get a ticket it will probably be a fix-it ticket. No charge if you turn it back around after July 4th. Like I said on the website, it’s a small price to pay to stand-up for freedom compared to what others have paid.
I can think of many legal ways to show your rebellion, without doing this.
Not sure how getting a ticket and giving more money to our local bureaucrat’s coffers is going to do anything about freedom! It kind of cancels itself out, don’t you think?
Civil disobedience is an honorable act when done in regards to something worth the punishment. What law is one supposed to be protesting by getting a ticket in this way?
...and you abuse the sidebar ‘breaking news’ for this?
And, the “Front Page”, and “Announcements” the latter which I’m pretty sure has to do with site announcements, or chapter announcements doesn’t it?
Not that I’ve never been guilty of having a thread re-categorized, but judging by the link, this is more like self-endorsement and an “ad” of sorts rather than “news”.

I thought of two more question about this - you are posting this on June 13, 2008 with the goal of having enough people know about it to make a difference? Sorry, but if you are intending for people to get “off” their tickets based on the premise of “political speech” you would have to spend a LOT more time generating support than just 2 weeks...
Also, do you think it’s wise on the 4th of July to annoy police officers with pulling people over for a political stunt when they have their hands full with crowds, drunks, and others?
Sorry, should’ve pinged Freestar on the post above in regards to the questions I asked. Sorry about that Dave. Freestar - two more questions about this for you in the post above this one...
I wish we had as many monthly donors as thread nannies.
That’s actually kind of ironic considering that it is the same thing Freestar is really looking for here...
From the link at the bottom of this particular post topic at his site:
Current Army size: 22 - enough for a tea party in Boston.
Updated June 13, 2008.
The never ending battle between freedom-seekers and force-mongers came to a head on June 23,
2005. On this day The United States Supreme Court handed down the “Kelo vs. New London”
decision that put everyone’s home at risk of government seizure. Freestar Media lead a rebellion
against this ruling through the “Lost Liberty Hotel” project.
Now Freestar announces the “License Plate Revolution” whereby people who are sick of the
continual growth of government and the continual loss of freedom can rebel by revolving their
license plates 180 degrees on July 4th.

Is this a fund raising scheme for the liberal local governments?
They get too much of my money to begin with.
In that case, perhaps the threads needs a killing.
Nevertheless, Free Republic needs monthly donors for OUR survival. See ya next Freepathon?
How about everyone with an American flag on their property turn the flag over in the international distress signal and leave it that way until we get sufficient media attention?
I did that during the klintoon era and had several folks knock on the door to tell me my flag was inverted to which I replied “Are the Clintons still in the White House?”
Gosh that will stop it won’t it! Wanna really stop it? Organize 1 million gun owners to bring their guns into DC demanding to see thier Congressman. Believe me you will get thier undivided attention!
Stay tuned for my Juan McCain vanity piece! : )
