Only child is at the USNA now. Midshipmen know what's expected of them when they sign their 2 for 7 at the beginning of their 3rd year. Two more years of education plus 5 years service. This guy will have a tough go with his peers. Nobody at the USNA thinks they will get out of their service commitment; that's not why they are there. They signed up to serve. Period.
