This guy is whining and avoiding his duty.Agree in full, don't think he is going to be getting many xmas cards from his classmates. Bad move on his part, especially in time of on-going conflict. He won't last long or be very happy. Might be best if he went Army / Air Force (if they'd have him), less encountering classmates or people with memories.
