Please excuse me for the mess in the middle. I don't know how to straighten it out.
US Non-combat 753
The most often intentionally overlooked statistic when the number "over 4,000" is used.
The other overlooked statistic is "25,000 wounded" In this case over 13.000+ returned to their units within 72 hours.
The first occurred during the Second Battle of Fallujah, when he was repairing the radios on a tank that had been damaged by a roadside bomb, and a terrorist hit the back of the tank with an RPG. Daniel bounced his head off the radio, giving himself a pretty good gash across the forehead and a mild concussion. The doctors decided to keep him overnight for observation (as some head injuries take a few hours to manifest themselves) and then sent him back to work the next morning.
The second one was from a mortar fragment that required four stitches on the back of his thigh (he'd actually gone to the aide station to get some butterfly bandages for what he claims was little more than a scratch, but they wrote him up for a Purple Heart anyway).
