Iraq Documentary (Vanity?)

Posted on 06/12/2008 1:06:38 PM PDT by al_c

Not sure if this qualifies as a vanity post, but here it is. I've been debating with some left wingers regarding Iraq. One has offered a link to a documentary on Bush and the Iraq war that was produced by Frontline (PBS) and has asked me to view it. I agreed on one condition. Knowing PBS/Frontlines normal leftist views, I said I'd view it if he'd be so kind as to view a similar production that wasn't tilted left.

Now .... where do I find such a piece?

Any help on this would be appreciated.

FWIW ... here's the link to Frontline's video ... Bush's War.

You may find a morsel for thought in FrontPage's review of "Makers and Takers: How Conservatives Do All the Work While Liberals Whine and Complain."
... "(M)odern liberalism simply absolves its adherents of many difficult and inconvenient responsibilities…. Because liberal believe it is the role of the state to care for the needy, liberalism fosters an 'I gave at the office' mentality. Simply espousing liberal values and voting for liberal candidates is enough. No other action is required.

That is why liberalism is so seductive. It allows one to claim the moral high ground on just about any issue, while, in effect, 'outsourcing' your personal responsibility for doing something about it to the government." ...

Ask him if he can explain the various statements by dems over the years:

Have him read the Select Committee on Intelligence Report, too. Even the blatantly partisan report concludes that the statements made by the Administration were "substantiated by intelligence information".

The Minority Views section is very interesting as well. Chambliss, Hatch and Burr do a good job of ripping the report and examining statements made by the democrats during the pre-war period.

Tell your friend that you don't mind an examination of pre-war intelligence as long as it is a fact based examination and not a partisan attempt to further the political goals of the left.
