Daily Kos has obtained a copy of Obama's "certification of live birth."
All of the information is what we have been told before - name, birth date, etc.. His mother's race is listed as "Caucasian," his father as "African." No middle name of Muhammad, no first name of "Barry," no last name of "Dunham." He's listed as "Barack Hussein Obama II," not "Jr."
(Interestingly, in the lower right hand corner is the backwards reflection of a stamp, "June 6 or G, 2007". Did someone request or process this record about a year ago?)
Site creator Markos Moulitsas mentions in the comments the campaign released it to him.
(Also, for astrologers, the time of birth was 7:24 p.m.)
Next time you get one of those e-mails suggesting Obama has a different "real name," send people to this post or that document.
UPDATE: I'm getting some, "Jim, this looks modern," e-mail messages. As Ed notes,
When someone requests a validated copy of their birth certificate, they don’t get a photocopy of the original. They get a fresh certificate with a seal showing that it came from the official registrar, in most states. They keep the info in a computer and produced validated copies on request.
This is a validated copy of the birth certificate, with which Obama could get a passport, register to vote, etc etc. It’s perfectly acceptable.
Obama himself probably has a dog-eared yellowing copy in a desk drawer somewhere; this document is what he or someone authorized by him was given by the state out of its records. Barring some vast conspiracy within the Hawaii State Department of Health, there is no reason to think his birth certificate would have any different data.

There must be at least one Freeper who was born in Hawaii and has but to request a copy of their Birth Certificate and then, compare.

There never was any question about his citizenship. The question is whether he is a naturalized (not eligible to be Pres or VP) or natural born (eligible) US citizen under the law as those terms were defined when he was born. These are legal terms with speicific definitions and requirements, and the only real implication is eligibility to be Pres or VP.
He clearly was the former because to be the latter one of his parents had to be a US citizen for 5 years before he was born. Neither was. That’s how the law was defined then.
Doesn’t matter, though. The issue will never see the light of day. People apparently can’t grasp the concepts (even though they aren’t that complicated and are very clear cut), people keep mistaking the core issue (it is NOT about whether he is a US citizen), and nobody seems to care anyway.
I can't see that it has a raised seal either. When I wanted to get a passport a few years ago, I presented my original birth certificate to the postal clerk. They told me it wasn't acceptable because although it had a printed seal on it, it wasn't a raised seal. So in order to apply for a passport, I had to pay $25 to get a certified copy from the county in NY State where I was born.
Many states no longer have a raised seal. There is a statment, etc. on the back that it is a certified copy along with a seal image.
I had to get a WA state death certificate for a parent to submit to a source requiring a raised seal. I explained to them this was the current method used by the state. No problems.

Whether this document is real or faked is immaterial now as there will always be this document to fall back on as proof. It would be very difficult to prove it a forgery
This is way different than the Rather fiasco as the documents he used as proof were patently false and in the public record to be compared against real documentation from that time frame.
Obama birth record is a state document and only he can ask for a copy.

Not feeding BS.. can’t say where you live, but I was born in NC.. filed and got a copy of my BC in 89/90 it was nothing more than a photo.. filed for one in 04 got one that looks like the one above... other than it was NC, not Hawaii and had yellow watermark paper.

This really proves absolutely nothing, since if there was a name change for example, the original information and certificate would be put under court seal (as per the statue I posted earlier), and we would only see the new updated information.
Save onto your computer, open it and zoom by 200% or so. Look at the background around the typing and tell me what you see.
It is, look at the bottom right.. that’s not a copy of an original bc.. but it certainly could be something given out by a state when a file for a copy is asked for these days.
Ot it could be merely indicative of someone who thought “The Second” sounded more impressive than Junior. I don’t think the State of Hawaii has an Emily Post Compliance Agency to enforce trraditional naming conventions.
Besides, Barack Obama IS supposed to be the Second Coming, right? How very prophetic of Stanley et al.
