Remember how close the Reagan race was in 1980, despite a disastrous Carter term? I'd like to think American's are smarter than they appear, but it's tough finding any evidence of that these days.
Close? Ok, I am looking on Wikipedia and it looks like Reagan won 44 states. I only wish it was going to be that close this year. :-D Well, I think McCain will win but it’ll be a lot closer than 1980. I’m sure Carter being lousy was a help, but I think it was easier to win big victories when we had a great candidate like Reagan who people wanted to go vote FOR as well.
