Incredible. Do you live in California? When my kids went to school there 20 years ago, the textbooks had page after page on the Aztecs and the glories of their "civilization" (conveniently leaving out all that tediuous stuff about human sacrifice and the fact that all the other Indian tribes hated and feared the Aztecs so much that they were actually happy to join with the Spaniards in fighting them). As for Europe, you would have thought there was simply a large black hole on the other side of the Atlantic.
