According to the video below, former House Majority Leader Dick Armey has said that many Republicans will vote for Libertarian candidates in House races.
The Washington Times is reporting that former House Whip Tom DeLays wife plans to pull the Bob Barr lever on Election Day:
Tom DeLay will vote for John McCain but the former House Republican leader said his wife, Christine, is planning to vote for Libertarian presidential nominee Bob Barr.
Im trying to convince my wife not to do that, the Texas Republican told editors and reporters at The Washington Times on Friday. She said it publicly yesterday.

And Barr's is 98%. This should be a "no brainer" for any conservative serious about restoring the Republic.
The Elephant in the room is as good as extinct as the Whigs.
So, where does Tom DeLay’s wife vote? Virginia or Texas?
You must support McCain/Finegold. The ACLU led the court fight against it, joined by numerous groups I’m sure you think are liberal, like the NRA, American Conservative Union, Americans for Tax Reform, the Free Congress Foundation, the Second Amendment Foundation, Christian Coalition, Gun Owners of America, the Family Research Council, the Southeastern Legal Foundation, the Business-Industry Political Action Committee, the National Right to Life Committee. So by your standards these groups must be liberal too.
Congressman Dick Armey also worked with Bob Barr and the ACLU to protect our Constitutional rights. I guess you think he’s a liberal too.
Are you saying that everyone who is on the same side as the ACLU now and then is a liberal?
Do you refuse to work with people when they agree with you on an issue because you disagree with them on other issues?
Why not just vote for Obama?
The “message” you will be sending is that you want a veto-proof socialist majority in Congress, a Constitution-hating SCOTUS for decades (long enough to finish the destruction of America), and a Marxist as CinC of the U.S. armed forces, the CIA, FBI, NSA, and the rest. I suggest you think your options through a little more thoroughly.
(sarc)What a bargin!(/sarc)
The ACLU makes a habit of being on the liberal side of every issue, whether it furthers civil liberties or not. It only cares about civil liberties when they further its liberal agenda. The Scouts are a good example. The Supreme Court has ruled that the Scouts have a right to freedom of association under the Constitution—which is a civil liberty. Even though the Court has ruled against the ACLU’s position, it continues to sue the Scouts in an effort to force them to conform to its liberal opinions.
Barr could have associated himself with an organization that truly believes in civil liberties. Instead, he associated with an organization whose primary motivation for championing civil liberties is only to force liberal political and social views on the American people.
In what alternate Universe?
Gang of 14. Dumb fingers...
Not just a privacy attorney. An ACLU attorney.
The ACLU has little credibility on privacy, by the way. Ask the Scouts.
Bob Barr, like Keyes, is not a candidate he’s a guy looking for donations.
Oh! Oh! I know who that is! It's Mike Off-his-meds-ved, right?
So you agree with McCain/Feingold because the ACLU led the fight against it?
All those rock solid conservative groups are now liberal because they’ve worked with the ACLU? I suppose you think all the FReepers who oppose McCain/Feingold and were hoping the ACLU suit would get it overturned are liberals in your mind too.
Barr and Armey have lifetime ACU ratings of 98% and 97% respectively, but you think they are liberal?
I guess in your world the Republicans who side with Loserman on the war are liberals too and should not work with him on that issue. You cant have it both ways.
I suppose you have no problem supporting McCain even though he works with Soros and takes money from him. But Barr, who is far and away more conservative than McCain, you have a problem supporting because he worked on the same side as the ACLU, Dick Armey, American Conservative Union, Americans for Tax Reform, the Free Congress Foundation, and the Second Amendment Foundation, on the same issue. Do you also have a problem supporting those groups?
It makes no sense to me at all to refuse to work with someone or some group who agrees with you on one issue just because they disagree with you on everything else.
Let me suggest Lou Barletta or Joe Arpaio.
I reference post #32 above.
Oh, my! You’re post makes me want to curl up and die!
The cases Bob was working on all involved the FedGov over stepping it’s bounds under the Homeland Security provisions and trampling the 4th Amendment. I’m not real crazy about our new Big Brother organization so anyone making their lives interesting in the legal arena is OK in my book.
