From what I've read it's a common cultural thing for married African men to sleep around quite a bit with hookers etc which is causing the Aids transmission to their wives-not so much homosexuality. Some of the highest adultery rates in the world. National Gepgraphic did a story about some gold mines were the male employees would be away from his wife for 1-2 years and even the author was flabergasted with he rates of adultury. Again it's a cultural thing. Still a tribal thing to mate with as amny woman as you can.
I’ve read that too - except the hookers are getting it from men who must engage in bisexual behavior.
The “epicenter” of the disease comes from homosexual behavior.
I’ve also read it is very difficult for a woman to pass the disease onto a man unless he has some sort of wound - an opening in his skin.And even then it is unlikely for bodily fluid from the women to enter the man’s blood stream.
So - I’m not sure, really, how accurate it is to say that female hookers are a large source for infection.
It is much easier for the disease to spread from man-to-woman through ejaculation.
Which -again - leaves us with the likely possibility of homosexual acts being the primary source.
