"By the time everyone (People of color in attendance) finishes explaining/educating White on the history of Black American, Civil rights, etc. the intent of the meeting can be lost."

Maybe the "black guys" need to stop assuming that "all whites are racist and should pay reparations to black guys". Some of "my" ancestors "were" guilty---but they're long dead, and the (Yankee) ones that owned slaves later fought in the Civil War to free slaves. And I'm sure the "black guys" would be surprised to hear it, but my SOUTHERN ancestors never owned any.

How dare you offer your non-diverse opinion. Don’t you know that diversity is for everyone but you? /s

I had 2 great great grandfathers fight during the Civil War. One was seriously wounded at the battle of Pleasant Hill, LA. Another gr gr uncle was killed at Gettysburg. Paying the ultimate price.

None of my relatives owned slaves....but one of my first relatives to come to these shores was an indentured servant...taken prisoner in Scotland and brought over here. There were many indentured servants brought to America, should their descendants sue for reparations from England and Scotland ? Or from our own government for allowing such practices to exist?

“I’m sure the “black guys” would be surprised to hear it, but my SOUTHERN ancestors never owned any (slaves).”

And of course they would be so surprised to hear that a lot of blacks owned black slaves in the South. So surprised, that they usually refuse to hear it.
