Drop `middle-class` academic subjects says schools adviser, and teach "Personal Skills" instead.
UK Daily Mail ^ | 06/04/2008 | Laura Clark

Children should no longer be taught traditional subjects at school because they are "middle-class" creations, a Government adviser will claim today.

Professor John White, who contributed to a controversial shake-up of the secondary curriculum, believes lessons should instead cover a series of personal skills.

Pupils would no longer study history, geography and science but learn skills such as energy- saving and civic responsibility through projects and themes.

I guess British socialists have finally dropped all pretense that they care about the Middle class. At least, one has.

I would hope Britons would say enough was enough and take back their own country while they still have a chance.

New Dark Age, anyone?

These people are sick. REALLY sick. You know Communism is screwed up when they have to teach you how to be a good Communist in school. I guess indoctrinating is easier than teaching.

Well, I don't see anything wrong with that.

SOMEBODY has to scrub my toilets.

So, without knowledge of history, science and math, the dullards have to trust that what they are told by the MSM is the truth; that, when the government says that man made global warming is an indisputable fact, the loons won't be confused by data, science, ratios, charts and history.

Hasn't the U.S. schools system already achieved this goal?

George Orwell was spot on.

I'm ok with it. I have a good library. I can train peasants.

Knowledge is power.

If the fools want to be stupid, more power to them.

You said a mouthful. But this stuff actually worries me because I see large numbers of completely uneducated and illiterate dopes as a true scourge and threat to society at some point. Ignorant people are often violent.

These poor souls will know what to do at the expense of knowing why.

I think it was Lenin who first castigated the bourgeoisie (i.e. middle class) for their values. The war on the middle class continues. Suburbs - bad. SUVs very bad. Geography and history - useless. Why do we need is liberal indoctrination, community awareness, psychobabble? So no one has the power to think, to disagree, to fight.

I study history. I know how it works out.

The universe has a quick fail-safe on stupidity.

It is usually self inflicted, and always fatal.

o how to dis your local cops w/o getting arrested,

o how to kill your rival gang members w/o getting caught,

So at least one Brit is being honest and open about that now. That’s understandable...keeping the potential peasant competition down (not). School administrations and corporate benefactors here should fess-up, too.

Heck, you can’t argue for “Constitutional Rights,” when you don’t know what the Constitution is. You can’t defend the United States or its ideals against world critics, when you don’t know what we’ve done from a historical standpoint.

I don't see it happening. They'll just go along to get along. Like sheep do.

Ignorant people are often violent.

They can be controlled as long as you give them bread and circuses. Doritos and a big screen TV will work too.
