Franken wins endorsement for Senate in Minnesota
1 minute ago
Al Franken has won a resounding endorsement for U.S. Senate from Democratic activists at the Minnesota state convention.
The former "Saturday Night Live" writer and performer beat college professor Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer on the first ballot Saturday. Franken had just given a speech to delegates apologizing for past jokes that offended some fellow Democrats.
Nelson-Pallmeyer conceded the endorsement to Franken and moved that Democrats unanimously back Franken. They did so by voice vote.
Republican Sen. Norm Coleman has his party's endorsement for re-election.
In a sane state, this would be a blowout.
Isn’t Franken the guy who thinks that only Republicans should pay taxes?
didn’t i just read that they were raising sewer charges to $100.00 a month?
Stuart Smalley.
One of the most hate-filled people on earth.
Oh, this is good news I think. With him as our opponent this seat should be safe, right?
I wouldn’t count on it. There’s a whole lot of deranged people in this state.
Does anyone have a link to the Playboy article that I have heard about?
Yeah, I don’t think he is OK.
Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer, a guy with a hyphenated name. I thought only women did that. And so, probably, do most Democrats. Since they didn’t nominate a guy with a hyphenanted name, they must be sexist. No surprise there!
Al Franken - a lot like Jesse Ventura, but without the sense of humor...
or the smarts...
or the talent...
or the ethics...
or...
;>)
They gave it to obama...they give it to this dweeb franken. I know this all sits well with the most radical moonbats in the dem party but I believe they are alienating more people in their own party and in the country than they realize or would admit. The GE will be fun to watch.
“Some things in life just aren’t funny...and one of those things is Al Franken.”

How true! And one could add 'just not qualified for the United States Senate' to the list as well, IMO as a native Minnesotan...
