First of all I am a vet who served my country during the Vietnam War. And I am also an environmentalist. So all you who post this bullshit about anyone who is in favor of the environment and concerned about possible negative consequences from gas drilling who want to label us all as commie leftwing radicals, did you serve? Based on my research, there appears to be a need for incredible amounts of water for usage in opening the well and that water will need substantial treatment after that usage or will end up as nothing more than a polluted pond. In areas like where I live, water is at a premium, and the availability of millions of gallons for the drilling process may result in that supply not being available for the public water supply. So, great, you have all these wealthy landowners who will make big bucks while the rest of us will have to pay increasingly high costs for decent water for our households. Just another example of the rich getting richer-the folks who will suffer have only a small lot or rent and will get no part of the proceeds, but, due to the costs of cleaning up contaminated water, will have to pay for the profits of the wealthy. Sounds like the typical American way, the rich, who usually inherited the land and have not done shit to deserve it, get richer, while the middle class and poor get nothing. And let’s talk about conservation, you spoiled overweight me, me, me, American get your fat ass off your riding lawn mower you use to mow a quarter acre, sell that damn gas guzzling SUV that gets 12 miles per gallon, and quit building 4,000 square foot houses and we can save 30-35 percent of our energy costs immediately.
You say that unless someone is a vet who served they can have no say on the subject of gas wells and the environment. Then you proceed to educate us about all the evils of gas well drilling based on YOUR research. What makes you an expert? Because you CLAIM to be a vet?
