You got it right in one line. These people, these hard leftists, have in Obama a spiritual thrill they've not experienced since they first quoted Marx to get back at their mommies and daddies when they first went to college.
This is their god. Socialism/Marxism is their religion. Hatred for normal American values is their creed. Bigotry is their sacrament.
They are the enemy.
They are cultists, always have been. Lurking in the fringes, getting fat on our taxes and using their positions to indoctrinate the weak and attack the patriotic, these are the remnants of the sixties. Look at them, know them. These are the enemy - they are no longer opponents. They're not the gasbags we've thought could be tolerated until they fade into senility. They're creepy socialist cultists and they've decided that things have changed sufficiently for them to throw off their facades of near-bearable, silly kookiness and are now showing their true Red colors.
If Obama gets in, these people will be aching to eliminate any and all opposition. And they'll think that the socialist god himself (Obama) will bless whatever they do.
Frankly, this kind of thing makes me terrified, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
They are not just seeking political change, they are seeking radical transformation of our society.
