“The problem is, Bush has done a piss poor job of advertising the response that would occur if there ever was a nuclear attack on the US.”
Oh really? How do you know that?
Remember...just because it hasn’t been leaked to the NYSlimes, doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened. (wink)
We have not been attacked on our soil since 9/11/2001, so this Administration is doing something right and it is about time that President Bush is given a little credit..ESPECIALLY AROUND HERE!!
I am sick and tired of the Bush bashing! Can you give it a damn rest? It sounds like an echo chamber of the leftist dummies around here sometimes!!
(end of rant)
Thank you.
Bush turned out to be far less than we hoped. He had a short period where he rose to the occasion, after 9/11. He really inspired. Turned out he had good speechwriters, the ones who wrote "axis of evil". He had a great military, and cleaned up in Afghanistan. But he let the namby-pambies lead him by the nose, and many of the good things went bad.
Iran should be under new management by now. That is what Iraq was all about.
Saudi Arabia should be begging us to let them keep their kleptocracy, not sneering in our direction.
Jimmy Carter said Chavez was fairly elected (he wasn't) and Bush said OK. Past presidents threatened global war rather than allow communists to gain key footholds in the Americas.
He is the absolute worst spokesman for his cause that ever existed. And, with that failing, he hires a Scott McClellan! Great management.
He let the CIA and State Dept. stay in the hands of Clinton stooges. Oh, and Justice Dept., too.
Campeon and Ramos. Thanks, Jorge.
Two more words: Immigration reform. Need I say more.
The list of failures and mistakes is lengthy. It did not have to be this way. He has picked bad people, been ineffective as a speaker and a leader, and made his own bad decisions, on things like wanting to be buddies with Ted Kennedy and on policies such as war strategy, global warming and dealing with liberal attacks on Gitmo. He fought hard for Specter and Chafee.
All that said, Bush is not in my mind a failure. He is a muddler; he has muddled through. So much more could have been done. Where he could have done serious harm, as with immigration reform, we were able to stop him. But the big fights will have to take place later, and will be much more difficult, because of the decisions made by Bush. But he is nonetheless far superior to having had Kerry or Gore in charge. That is something, I guess.
Don't like my opinion of Bush? Too bad.
