So they are working to reduce the cost of gas but they’re trying to break our dependence on petroleum?
If the price goes down what is my incentive to not use petroleum products?
To: Sub-Driver
Reid doesn’t play well with others, and then blames it on the others.

Dingy Harry is nuts. Nobody “squandered” anything. America was given a stay of execution.

If the RNC has any ability, they will re-package this as a defeat for an increase in gasoline taxes or costs.

America was given a stay of execution.
That's funny. "Execution" was the first word that popped into my mind when I read the title of this article.

Bush-McCain Republicans seems a bit odd a term: Moderate for Bush and Liberal for McCain would put them on the Left side of the aisle.

June 6, 2008: Dirty Harry Reid cries because Mitch McConnell finally located the GOP’s testicles and ruined the Dems’ plan to impose a $ 6.7 trillion tax on America, ruin its economy and return our standard of living to 1938, without any debate or amendments.
For this, those guys left the landing craft?
Hey Harry, go back to Searchlight, ya dim bulb!

Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) & Carl Levin (D-MI)
The two Liberal “Detroit” (auto) Sinators voted against it, which give a pretty strong indication of what the Bill would have done to the economy!

News flash Harry the only global warming bill that will strengthen the economy is one that removes any and all restrictions on production. Anything else is global warming bull.

GM was one of the first to go “Green” with the flex fuel vehicles but it didn’t seem to save them and the Michigan Senators know it.

Tell ya what, Harry.
We’ll stop the shipment of all gasoline, oil, and related petroleum products into Nevada. We’ll also cut all power transmission lines into the state, and we’ll shut down any generating stations that might be located there. Then we’ll see how much your constituents like leading by example.

I would guess that Las Vegas and Reno are rather high on the rankings of per capita energy usage??
Let’s propose that those two cities take the lead and make an immediate 40% cut in energy usage and “carbon emissions”...... see how long Dingy Harry wants to take the lead in blathering about Globull Warming....

Time and again Democrats have given Republicans
the shaft and squandered an opportunity to address the rising cost of energy, by lifting opposition to drilling ANWR and the coastal areas. We have tried to
tax the hell out of Americans in the name of global warming,
raise gas prices and invest in renewable energy
by giving HUGE subsidies to technology that will not survive the market test but Republicans have squandered each opportunity.
There, I fixed it for easy deciphering.

The reason is that they did not want to be on the record for their vote. The Reps didn’t stop it. The Dems did because they realized it was a loser in the midst of a huge gas hike and prior to the November elections.
