There is a tornado on the ground in Racine County in Wisconsin. The storm is heading into Milwaukee county.
Milwaukee, Wisconsin is also under a tornado warning.
I said this:
In the U.S. year after year, more are killed and injured by tornadoes than earthquakes.
Lord, don't I know it! The lake in my backyard is now large enough to jet ski on it.
Of course, I am mostly concerned with tornadoes, but we did not have to get to the basement. I did put my dogs in the basement, so that I would not have to search for them in a hurry....

Northern Jefferson County here. Sirens went off about 10 minutes ago and it is pouring. Wind is unbelievable
Heard a tornado was spotted in Hillsboro.
Prayers sent, I hope you’re ok.
not a big deal.....just rains, get a bit windy and maybe some small hail.
It is very rare to actually have a storm that does damage or has hail big enough to bust out windshields etc.
Even rarer.......virtually almost a certainty it will never occur to you in your lifetime......for a tornado to hit your house or even come close.
I would take midwest severe weather over an earthquake or hurricane.
Simply a function of the unusual luck we’ve had with earthquakes in urban areas.
Eventually we’ll have a quake that kills thousands.
And keep in mind the Northridge Earthquake did more 40 times more property damage than the most damaging tornado we’ve ever had.
KSDK is reporting that a plane went down near Edwardsville IL.
(no word on what size it is)
Plane down in Madison Co IL (still no word on the size of the plane, yet)
(Midwest - Scott AFB - Lambert are all in the general area)
Well, we all have our preferences. Me? I’ll take a shaker every few years. I have no desire to see a tornado coming down my road, or hurricane, baseball sized hail, flood, ice storms.. etc.
I haven't heard anything on the size of the plane either, the last report I heard was that the Medical Examiner was at the scene. Prayers to all involved.

Just heard - single engine plane - one person on board - it was headed to KY.
Reports are the plane went down around 3:15pm.
This was going on in the area at the time...
2040 ST. JACOB MADISON IL 3872 8977 POSSIBLE TORNADO NEAR ST. JACOB. THIS COULD HAVE OCCURRED AROUND 3...15 PM OR 3...30 PM. NO DAMAGE REPORTED. (LSX)
Confirmed that the pilot did not survive, he was the only person on board. Many prayers to his family, how horrible.
