LANSING, Mich. (AP) Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm isn't switching her support quite yet to presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.
Granholm and Lieutenant Governor John Cherry both endorsed New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton last October. They're among seven Michigan Democratic superdelegates who backed Clinton.
Fifteen support Obama, with one more expected to endorse Friday.
Granholm spokeswoman Liz Boyd said Thursday that, while the governor has made it clear she'll support the Democratic nominee, she won't make a formal statement supporting Obama until after Clinton announces a decision on her campaign.
Clinton plans to hold an event in Washington Saturday to thank supporters and urge them to back Obama's candidacy.
Our bright spot -- RED WINGS!!!!!!!
I have to say that I’m amazed at how much punishment you will take. I moved to Florida 25 years ago.
You mean Big Cuba? :o)
“urge them to back Obama’s candidacy.”
I won’t believe it until I actually see it with my own eyes and will be careful to see if she uses any “code” words to her supporters that she is still in the game!
Stupid people of MI still blame Bush instead of jenny, levin, etc.
Sheesh!
In Michigan most everyone still speaks English rather than Spanish. How long that will last is anybody’s guess.
The liberal dems here going after true conservatives and the GOP congresscritters are just outrageous. A huge tax-and-spend lib (Mark Schauer) wants Tim Walberg’s seat. I don’t think he stands a chance after those two fat tax increases he promoted and voted for last fall.
The state is a wreck and shows no signs of recovery unless you’re in Hollywood. C’mon down, we taxpayers will subsidize 42% of your production costs!
Well I believe it to be Detroit and a couple of other union pockets. Still, by and large, MI is fairly conservative.
It would really help if we could end the infighting in the Republican party and get serious about ending voter fraud.
Otherwise, I guess things won't change much..
Tim Walberg made it in, but not by much in Calhoun County.
Everyone I talk to blames Bush, not jenny.
I'm going to contact Walberg's campaign. He's been under attack since day one.
Congrats!
...and may this classic '96-97 image be a precursor to the November election.
McCarty = McCain (with apologies to McCarty)
Claude the Turtle = Obama the Ostrich
Kim Meltzer is supporting the state ban on smoking in bars and restaurants..........She's a republican
I think she is your state rep too.....I've already given her an earfull but she is nothing more than a pandering RINO who has no conception whatsoever about private property rights and what is going to happen when her ban is enacted.
Oh, and by the way, she helped sculpt the current legislation which will exempt casinos from the smoking ban.
In other words, screw the mom and pop bars, we need the revenues from the casinos...........typical republican whore.
After my last correspondence with Meltzer, I was totally fed up with her rhetoric to the point that I had decided that I was going to run against her in her re-election campaign. Unfortunately the deadline to register as a candidate was just over 2 weeks ago according to my friend who is on the executive committee of the Macomb County Republican party......
Granholm is a robot. Part of the Clinton Machine.
LOLOLOL...Governor Molehern doesn't want operation chaos to end!
A Democrat Obama supporting friend of mine said he believes Granholm wanted the election early to help Clinton.
Thanks grellis.
Me too. He is our congressman in Eaton County too. Good guy. Joe Swartz may run against him again. Lets get out the vote for Walberg. Jenny and Clinton. Well loosers tend to stick together. We also have a great rep. The X Eaton County Sherriff.
