Your statistic refers to “military workers,” not members of the military. But you knew that...
I think that article about the most donations is very misleading. It includes people who are not actually in the military (i.e., government bureaucrats). Furthermore, how many people who are actually in the military do you think have donated to any candidate? My bet is that it is a very low number of people and not reflective of anything.
