There are lots of conservatives in California, just not in public office.
I think this guy would make a tremendous VP--but then, no one has asked my opinion about that--LOL!
This is very good news. Thanks for posting it...
The nation needs to back and support locally many more like him when and wherever they can..
Good luck Tom and good luck, Conservatives!
Club for Growth
Bump!
He's one of the few Conservatives left in the GOP.
There is no place where the promise of freedom for America and liberty for its people is more under assault than under the dome of the United States Capitol. McClintock’s leadership will be needed to unify conservatives as a massive change in direction for House Republicans will be necessary if the GOP is going ever be known again as the party of limited government.
With the dems in control , Congre$$ enjoys the lowest approval ratings, No, make that, rather, the highest disapproval ratings ever..
I look forward to the floor speeches to come when Tom takes his oath.
McClintock is a good principled conservative. Osi ran a sleazy campaign against him, lining up Rinos like Pete Wilson to try to savage McClintock. I remember the gubenatorial debate after the recall. McClintock won it hands down. Arnold was just trading insults with Ariana Huffington and Cruz Bustamonte was repeating slogans. McClintock came across as a statesman and would have made the better governor.
There is absolutely no Rino in McClintock. This is what can happen when true conservatives are fearless when expressing their views and backing those views with facts.
I know that Charley Brown is claiming a lead at the polls, but are there any real numbers available?
What's unfortunate is that he did not go to congress a lot earlier. IIRC, the story was that he had a chance to run in a House district in SoCal, but declined when Bob Hope's son Tony entered the race. Hope lost the primiary anyway to Elton Gallegly.
In any event, I'm very happy to see Tom win this primary. It's good for the Republican party and good for America.
Rush mentioned that McClintock was one of two wins for the Club for Growth. The other was a Senate nomination, in AZ or thereabouts . . .
Hopefully, there will be at least one other conservative on the ballot at the federal or state level that I can support ...but I'm not holding my breath.
Good man...hope he tears ‘em up!!!!!
Tom McClintock has more experience fighting uphill battles against hopeless odds than just about any other conservative Republican. He will be worth his weight in gold in the House.
Open honest principled conservativism will win the day every single time. This is why the republocans are getting destroyed lately, this is why we love Sarah Palin up here, and why there has been so much buzz about her for VP.
Congrats Tom! Don’t change a thing. You are exactly what the GOP needs in these dark times.
No it won’t. Not if constituents are looking for handouts rather than leadership. Which, unfortunately, describes a significant portion of the American electorate.
That is also how the democrats took over the house: by running “somewhat” conservative democrats against RINOs in republican districts. The RINOs were to the left of the democrat and thus lost.
“Not if constituents are looking for handouts rather than leadership.”
That describes non-republican districts. However, you are correct that more and more people are looking for handouts and don’t understand that it leads to socialism and a lower performing economy and a lower standard of living for all of us.
