Gee, wonder what happened to the 100s of millions of dollars Texas had in their rainy day or highway funds? It went to pay wasted bureaucrats. You know, I will bet if everyone in the US that wants a great country got together and named one person to replace idiots in government we could change this thing. We all know someone that could honestly represent us.

There is nothing wrong with filled up highways. This is good. This is what those people, at that time of day, on that highway are doing. This is actually great. For a bit, a public expense is being used fully and at full capacity.
Why is a crowded bar good? Why are cities teaming with people good? Why are malls filled with people good? Why is a highway, empty, expensive, under utilized, payed for by wasted tax dollars good?
Another way of looking.
Don't build the highway, and people won't come. People will move to the cities. Or, jobs will move to the country.
Either way, why is a personal and business problem a public problem?
Well, of course we know. Government needs to have, or more usual today, create a problem where none exists in order to have more money flow through its hands.

What TXDot is not saying loudly is that their toll roads currently in operation are not making money. So lets give them more toll roads to mismanage and that will make everything better.
