No. Different pollsters have estimated that between 20 and 30 percent of Hillary’s supporters, who represent about half the Democratic party, are (at least for the moment) disinclined to vote for Barack Obama. From the reading I’ve done on Democratic blogs, I get the impression that many of those either intend to vote for McCain or are willing to do so. They view Barack Obama (correctly) as an extremist and a political wildcard who will damage the country. They are also angry at his having stolen the nomination from what they view (also correctly) as a more qualified candidate. The time is ripe to lure them away. McCain will need every vote he can get if he is to win.

You've got Democrats supporting McCain, Limbaugh telling people to support Bama, and principled conservatives heading for the tall grass.

Like much else currently going on in this country, this is political chaos. Regardless of who wins the election at this point, the American people lose.

Many of the factors you cite are accurate, but you can't dismiss the political landscape as pure chaos. See things clearly. Yes, we lose no matter who we get. McCain will be disastrous in many ways, but Obama's socialist power grab will be infinitely worse. Conservatives will weep for McCain if Obama is elected.
